If your parents are still here, I highly recommend you interview them. What a great experience this was!
We did the Alexander interview on a Friday, and had the interview with my mom on a Sunday. I'm glad we did the interviews in the same weekend. Everything we learned from the Alexander interview, we used to dial in this one. I think the biggest thing we focused on was coming at nap time for our daughter. Our girl slept through the entire interview, so we were able to focus.
My mom only had a few days to review the questions, so we were worried that maybe she would need more time to think it over. She wasn't worried at all though, so we went with it!
I loved hearing her tell stories from her life. I felt like she was talking directly to me, so often times I forgot we were rolling. I knew the editing process would be a little more challenging because of how much I was talking in the video. But, worth it!
We had minor lighting issues throughout the recording. There's definitely some things we need to keep in mind next time. I also put the mic on my mom up side down. Jake had to fix it halfway through the video. Luckily it sounded exactly the same. I think the audio is dialed, though. The most important part of video is the audio, after all :)
After we finished recording, and our daughter woke up from her nap, we had lunch with my mom. A nice afternoon filled with watching baseball and card games.
Our second No Sleeper interview is complete, yay!
